LETTERS: A group of Bangladeshi students recently celebrated their country’s victory day by cleaning up the Tanjung Leman beach in Mersing, Johor.
This was in line with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia’s community drive led by Manam Ahmed.
Participants pitched in to collect trash to make the area cleaner, which in turn improves the coastal and ocean’s ecosystems, ensuring that trash doesn’t kill the marine life.
This experience of working together instils a sense of accomplishment among the students.
In addition, the activity has its social benefits, enabling students to improve on their interpersonal relationships with members of society.
It also boosts awareness among young people, motivating the younger generation to take part in saving the planet for future generations.
Such events help youths learn about volunteerism and encourage them to build a better future.
