Pihak penyelenggara Mobile World Congress (MWC) bulan ini menyesalkan keputusan LG Electronics yang diumumkan hari ini bahwa menarik diri dari gelaran yang bakal dihelat di Barcelona tersebut lantaran wabah virus corona.

Pengumuman tersebut disampaikan oleh juru bicara MWC sembari menegaskan bahwa acara tersebut akan tetap berjalan sesuai rencana.

"Kami telah berbicara dengan LG dan menyesal tidak melihat mereka di MWC20 Barcelona tahun ini," kata juru bicara MWC dilansir dari Reuters, Rabu (5/2/2020).

"Seperti yang kami nyatakan kemarin, kami dapat mengonfirmasi bahwa ada dampak minimal pada acara sejauh ini dan MWC Barcelona 24-27 Februari 2020, akan berjalan sesuai rencana," lanjut juru bicara tersebut.

Virus corona nCoV sejauh ini memang berdampak pada sejumlah perusahaan teknologi, terutama yang beroperasi di China.

Mulai dari Google yang menutup sementara seluruh kantornya di China, kemudian Apple yang menutup 42 gerainya, disusul Samsung yang menutup experience store miliknya di .

Sejauh ini pengembangan terhadap antivirus corona masih berlanjut.
